Meets during the year to organize the parish Justice and Charity Ministry Programs listed below. The committee also discusses innovative ideas in efforts to continue to advocate for and support those living in poverty. Scheduled meetings are announced in the bulletin. All are welcome.

Writes a Diocesan grant annually to request funds for emergency financial needs from Dominion Virginia Power to assist those in need. Also requests financial assistance for the Bread for Life Community Food Pantry, Inc. to support the needs of the hungry. Networks with local agencies who in turn, phone for assistance.

During the Christmas season, the parish comes together to bring joy to children and families living in poverty who are referred by the Salvation Army. A Christmas tree is placed in the Commons with the names of the families and clothing sizes on the tree. Parishioners purchase and place unwrapped gifts under the tree for the committee to sort and deliver to the Salvation Army for distribution to families in need.
In partnership with the Church of the Holy Family in Virginia Beach, stocking stuffers are collected during the holiday season for distribution by Migrant Ministries of the Eastern Shore.
Each Friday during Lent, homemade meatless soups and breads are served to parishioners and the Gloucester community. Coordinators are needed to establish a telephone chain and recruit volunteers to set up, cook, serve, help in the kitchen, and clean up afterward.

In partnership with the Jubilee Churches of Gloucester and the Gloucester United Emergency Shelter Team (GUEST Program), we provide volunteers, meals, and fellowship for the homeless in need of shelter during the inclement weather months.
