Parish Life

Parish Life Committee

The Parish Life Committee promotes a sense of Christian community and social life within the parish, and between the parish and the larger community.  It makes an on-going effort to foster a truly hospitable atmosphere in the parish through the events listed below. Volunteers are welcome to serve on the committee.

Ice Cream Socials

Socials are held at various times of the year to celebrate special feast days or events. Volunteers are needed to help organize and serve.

International Dinner

A potluck dinner featuring ethnic foods is held if there is sufficient interest. Volunteers are needed to coordinate this effort and assist with the dinner.

Mardi Gras/Saint Patrick’s Day Celebration

This event alternates yearly between a Mardi Gras celebration and a Saint Patrick’s Day celebration.  A person or committee is needed to plan the event, decorate the social hall, sell tickets, prepare and serve refreshments, and perform any task needed to ensure the event’s success. Help with setup and cleanup as needed.

November Wine and Cheese

An adults-only party is held each year on a Saturday evening in November after the 5 p.m. mass to provide a social time for parishioners. Volunteers are needed to plan the event, arrange for food and beverages, serve, and cleanup.

Parish Picnic

A picnic is held each year on or near the feast of the parish’s patron, St. Therese of Liseux (October 1). A person or committee is needed to organize the picnic including enlisting volunteers to bring food, setup, serve, cleanup, welcome parishioners, and plan and run games. This is one of the most popular events of the year and it is open to parishioners of all ages.

Senior Dinner

A dinner for all the senior members of the parish is held each year in December. Volunteers are needed to prepare and serve food for this event.  Help with setup and cleanup is also needed.
