SACRAMENTS
Baptism is the beginning of our faith and our gateway into the Church. It is the first of three Sacraments of Initiation. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word”. (CCC 1213)
BAPTISM
Those seeking baptism should contact the pastor, Fr. Gregory, at 804-693-5939 ext. 7 from the main menu.
Older youth and teens are invited to participate in our O.C.I.A. process, designed for those 7-17 years of age who: are not baptized, baptized in another faith and wishing to become a member of the Catholic faith and older children who have not received First Eucharist. Contact Nadine McGrady or call 804-693-5939 ext. 3.
First Eucharist
Preparation for reception of First Communion is available to children beginning in the second grade. Eucharist preparation requires parent education and involvement.
First Eucharist program is family based and indeed relies on the family to be the primary educators of the faith for their children. Children begin meeting in the Fall with First Eucharist planned for the season of Easter. Contact Nadine McGrady or call 804-693-5939 ext. 3.
Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Penance is normally offered the third Wednesday of the month at 6:15-6:45 p.m. Preparation for the celebration of the first Sacrament of Penance is available to children beginning in the second grade and requires parent involvement. Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick
One seeks this Sacrament for support in struggle against illness and to seek healing from Christ. If you are seriously ill, anticipating surgery, or weakened by advanced age, please contact the parish office to schedule this sacrament.
Holy Orders
Any priest will be more than happy to discuss religious life and ministry with someone who wishes to know more about this exciting vocation. Please feel free to contact Father Gregory Kandt by phone 804-693-5939.
