X : The Theresian Society Minutes for Friday, April 1, 2022 President: Jan Daum called the meeting to order at 10:05 AM, and welcomed 14 attendees, including our new member, Ann Davidson. In place of an opening prayer, Ann Foster and several readers read a section about each of the women in Who were the women at the Cross. A very interesting presentation for this time just before Holy Week. Thank you, Ann and ladies for sharing with all of us. Minutes: Minutes from the last meeting on Friday, March 4, 2022 were not read. They were sent out or a copy was made available for those without email. The minutes were approved. Financial Secretary & Treasurers Report: Marge Jones reported a check was written to Soft Works Power Washing for the approved $150.00 for the ALC building. $50 in dues and the check Trish Davis brought for $100 from her mother, Helen Trunkes, as a donation to the Theresians were deposited as recorded in the March minutes. The balance as of April 1, 2022 is $5089.72. Please remember to pay your $5 dues for the year if you have not already, unless you are in the Honored level. Prayer Line and Correspondence: Margie VanderMyde was given 5 more names to add to the Prayer line. Lourdes Parker reported that little Noah Mateo, grandson of our own Rosa Rodriguez is in CHKD in critical condition. Please keep him and the family in your prayers. All recited the Healing Prayer. Funeral Reception Coordinator: Marianne McCloskey reported there was one funeral for Bruce Vanderhoof since our last meeting. There were 81 at Mass and 62 at the reception. Thank you to all the helpers. She still needs updates of names and email addresses as she was unable to reach some who have signed up to help. Historian: Jeri Trudeau reported she is still taking pictures, and can scan anyones pictures to digital. There are three levels of pictures: one, we can share pictures among ourselves without permission forms, two, we can have pictures of church events which we can use within our church with one permission form per person for that event only (forms can be obtained before or after the event), and three, we need individual permission forms for any picture that is published in any way. All permission forms must be kept with pictures. Jan is checking to see if this can be kept digitally. OLD BUSINESS: 2022 Meeting Calendar Dates: Jan has received confirmation from the office for the meeting schedule for the rest of the year. First Friday of month Third Sunday of month May 6 June 3 July 17 Cancel August meeting September 18 October 7 November 4 December 2 Fathers Day breakfast: Between the Masses on Fathers Day, June 19th. Jeri Trudeau, Chair, is waiting to see how the Knights run the Mothers Day breakfast. She will have the general layout and menu available at the May meeting. She is thinking of having breakfast casseroles, hash browns, biscuits, butter and cups of fruit. She would like to have a cooking party at the church the day before. Linda Gregory has offered to help as needed, additional volunteers are also needed. Fall Bazaar: Saturday, October 15th in the Social Hall. Linda Gregory agreed to co-ordinate the event. She has been unable to get the notebook, but has started one. She will need help with the canteen, vendors and set up, hopefully from those who have worked with it in the past. Ann Foster and Margie VanderMyde have already agreed to help on the committee, but we will need more helpers as this is a big project. Use key word in email heading: Jan reminded everyone to use a keyword such as Theresians in the heading of emails to get everyones attention and to adjust the Subject to match the new message if tagging on. Norfolk Basilica trip: Lourdes will check with the dossier as to which date will work for them. The order of dates we chose are: May 4, May 11, or May 18. We would meet here at 10:00, and leave at 10:30 to attend Mass there at 12:10 and take the tour after that. Lourdes will check to see which date works best for them and report back as soon as possible. Since our first choice is before our next meeting, Jan will have to notify everyone by email as Chriss will be out of town. We will need everyone to RSVP. Father Gregorys 32nd Anniversary: Father Gregorys Ordination anniversary is May 19th and it was agreed that the Theresians would like to help the office staff with the celebration. *[After the meeting] A few of the officers made that offer to Mindy at Office reception. She did not know of any plans for a celebration. The three officers further discussed and if the Office has no plan for a celebration by the May meeting, it was agreed the Theresians will provide the cake and coffee after the Thursday daily Mass. NEW BUSINESS: Blood Drive: April 26th, noon to 6:00 p.m. Mary Beth Mayer said she really doesnt need sandwiches, they will use the Red Cross canteen, however she will need helpers to set up, work the canteen, help with donators and clean up.
